What should I do?!?!

The thought of this terrifies me!!! It has taken SO long to get Abby's hair back to "normal" since our hair cutting incident and I'm afraid to cut her hair...but...I was looking at some pictures from last fall when it was not to short but shorter than it is now...what do you think?!?!? Should she get a new style or keep it long?!?!

Just some of my thoughts...

This is kind of a "wo is me" blog so don't feel you need to read on.

So, I have been thinking this weekend...I want to get married! I know it will happen when it is supposed to and all that stuff...but this weekend I've decided that I am impatient. I'm usually pretty good about it. Knowing I don't want to till I'm done with school and all that stuff, but today...I want it NOW! I've thought of people coming in and our of our lives and how some are sent for a reason. What if the man I'm supposed to marry has come into my life but I wasn't ready and now hes gone. I am very self conscious about my weight. I cannot see a guy looking at me and thinking "there is someone I'd like to get to know" because of my appearance. A while back I had something come to me, there is more to me than my weight but it's hard for me to realize that. So I guess my final thought is-what if he has come into my life and looked at me and moved on. I feel that's my fault. :( It's a huge worry of mine, daily. I guess I know what I need to do to not have that worry....

I know, I've been horrible lately, but it has been super busy and tonight I actually have some time to sit down and write a few things.

I'm not sure where I left off so I'll start at summer school.

I decided to take a couple of summer classes. I took College Algebra and Managerial Accounting both in six weeks! It was INTENSE to say the least! We met three times a week for two hours each class then I would come home and spend at least three hours on homework or studying. The last four weeks of class I had a test each week and there was a lot of homework! I can't believe I survived but I did...and I passed both classes. Abby felt pretty neglected those six weeks so I decided we needed to take a mini vacation. My last final was on the 6th and we left that afternoon to go to Lexington for the weekend. It was a nice getaway where we could spend time together and not worry about school or life!

When we got back Abby started school! She started just last Thursday. She was very nervous but once she got in the door she was fine and is back to loving school. Her class is much larger this year and there is one more teacher added. We have also learned that there are many kids from church that are going to the Montessori school now!! I see a lot of potential to make new friends and I'm happy for her!

I have two weeks off, one of them being last week, so only one left:( I have a million things to get done before school starts again for me. I was so busy during summer school I have a lot to catch up on. So, this past week I got a lot done and hope to accomplish the rest of things on my list this week.

That's really the latest with us. School, school, school!! Even thought summer school was CRAZY I kinda liked it! If I take both summer sessions next summer that will put me a semester closer to graduation!!!!!

It's been SO long since my blogging I forgot some of the most basics of things that have changed!!

We got a puppy!!!
Her name is Kaydee and i LOVE her!! She's my baby! My mom keeps saying that she thought she was getting her for Abby, but it turns out it was for me ;)



I think that's the latest and the greatest...I will TRY and be MUCH better blogging than I have this summer!! It was a crazy summer and didn't last long enough!!!

On an side note.....it's my BIRTHDAY this Wednesday!!!!!!!!! Quarter of a Century old!!!! The BIG 25!!!! I can't believe it!!

What a (sick) week!

Ok...so I know I have a TON to update on but I'll start with this past week.


Last Wednesday night Abby started to have a little fever and had been complaining about her ear hurting. So i gave her some ibuprofen and she went to sleep. I decided the next morning to take her to the doctor. We get to the doctor and they check and sure enough an infection in her left ear and her tonsils were just a little swollen, but she said no strep throat. She had also been complaining of an upset stomach, but we just figured it was from drainage. So, she prescribes the antibiotic and we're on our way. Thursday and Friday were pretty normal sick days. Abby would lay on the couch and not do anything and I'd give her the ibuprofen for the fever. Abby went to her dad's house Friday night. Saturday he calls, she had been throwing up all day! So, is it because of her antibiotic or stomach flu?!? So, now what to do! It's fathers day weekend and I felt awful that she was sick, but she wanted to come home. So, I drive to Lagrange Saturday night at 10:30 pm, she had just thrown up again when I got there. We come home, it was a rough night. I call her doctor on Sunday morning, she gives her a different antibiotic and something for her stomach and if it's not better, I need to bring her in on Monday. Oh, also her fever was getting up in the 104's! I go get her new meds on Sunday and the one for her tummy....a suppository! (insert in the bum!) I felt awful for her!! But, I did it and her stomach was feeling better. I still couldn't get the fever under control. Up to 104.8 now! I had decided that if it didn't come down in the next few mins (after having her ibuprofen and a cold compress) we would have to go to the emergency room...luckily it came down. Sunday night was rough. About 3 hrs of sleep! Monday morning we go into the doctor. NOW, she has an infection in BOTH ears and STREP throat plus, the think MONO!!! This poor kid! So, while they were there they did a strep test, came back positive, and gave her a shot of antibiotic, in the hip (and the medicine burned while it was going in!) and they had to draw blood, for a mono test (both arms!) We go home and she feels awful!! She has to have her medicine every 4 hours or her stomach and fever get out of control! We get home and her fever was back up in 104's and was not going down this time so I called the doctor and she said if it hasn't gone down in 20 mins, to take her to the ER. I prayed SO hard that it would come down, It would be awful if we had to go to the ER! Luckily it did. Her shot made her feel better! And her mono test came back negative, but something was high so they want her to come back in 10 days to re-test to make sure everything is back to normal. (her blood work did show that she has had mono in the past! weird!) Needless to say, things are almost back to normal. She still is a little warm, but nothing to bad. I'm just glad she's feeling better!

I did it!

Well, I'm going to Seattle! Mike wanted to surprise me with a ticket to go out there and I didn't want them to do that so we decided to split a ticket! (plus I got a great price on my ticket!!) I'm going while Abby is in Utah with her dad. I'm flyin out on the 28th and I get back the 6th. I'm very excited! I told Mike that I would come out there but I did not want to go on any dates and I wasn't going to go to the singles ward! I was just coming to visit and spend time with them!! I get baby time!!! I'm so excited! It will be fun! I need to spend some time away.
I still haven't started work yet! I keep calling but my stuff isn't processed yet. But, it has been nice to have a week off from everything, I've been playing catch-up with a lot! It's amazing how much stuff there is to do in everyday life!

We Survived!

All is well in the Hoffman household. Everyone is home and settling back into a routine.

I am DONE with school!! (till fall) After I took that last final and sold books back (what I could sell back!) we had a party! It is so nice to be on summer break! Abby goes till the end of this month. She gets out on the 29th then goes to Utah on the 30th with her dad. She will be gone a week. It's hard when she is gone that long, but I know she will have an amazing time!!

This past month I've really been stressing about finding a job! With the economy and so many without jobs, I was SO worried I wouldn't be able to find one!! One day I ran into one of my old managers at Office Depot and we got to talking and I asked her if they were hiring and that in about a month I would need a job for the summer. She said "We would love to have you back!!!" I was SO glad to hear that!!! Such a HUGE blessing!! So we talked some more and she said to come by and let her know when so she can have a position for me! So I went in did all the paperwork and I start Wednesday!!! I am so thankful for that! It really makes me miss working! I love to work (more than school, lately) espically at the OD. There are so many great people there. Some have moved on (the general manager) but there are sill good friends there and I'm excited to go back!!!

So, thats the latest and greatest here. Working as much as I can this summer!! No big summer plans (yet) but we'll see!!
