Let's see some updates!

So, I believe where I left off was when Abby was sick the FIRST time. (side note, my mom is doing just fine if not better!!!)
The next week after my Mom in the hospital and Abby in the ER, started good. The weekend before Abby was feeling better and everything seemed fine. Then on Tuesday night she started with a small fever again. All I could give her was Tylenol because she was going in for her surgery (tonsils removed) that Friday. But, by Wednesday it was back up in the 103-104's and she started throwing up again. I called the doctor right away and we went in Wednesday morning to see the nurse practitioner. On the way Abby had thrown up 4 times in that hour. Right before we left, in the car, in the waiting room then in the back room. I think it was an intern doctor or something that came in first to see her. Then she went and got the nurse practitioner and she checked her out then she said she thought that her actual doctor saw her. So, her doctor (who I love!) came in and checked her out and said that she felt she needed to go ahead and go to the hospital and get some liquids and find out what was going on. So, after throwing up another time in the parking lot, we were on our way to the hospital.
Once we got there we had to go and get checked in. All this time Abby was wearing a mask and the lady at registration asked if I would wear a mask so I did and our escort up to our room had a mask. We were walking through the hospital and everyone was looking at Abby and she got so many "ohhh, poor thing" she looked awful! She was pale as a ghost and had huge black circles under her eyes. It was so sad. We get up to our room and she was in isolation since they still didn't know what she had. There was a table right outside her door with gloves, masks, and gowns with two signs saying it was isolation and to beware! The nurses came in wearing all the gear and tried to get her set up but the masks keep fogging up so the said to just forget it! It was sweet. They had to do some blood work and get her IV set up. No fun. She was so strong! Such a trooper! I think I cried more than she did!! I hated seeing her in pain. She was so dehydrated the nurses had a hard time finding a vein in her hand, they said she was so dry they couldn't find anything so they finally had to do it in her arm. We got her changed and all the tests done and were just able to rest for a few minutes then the x-ray lady came in and wanted an x-ray of her chest to make sure it was clear. After that we were mostly able to rest. They gave her something for her tummy and her fever and we just waited. Wednesday was horrible! She didn't go to bed till midnight and once she would fall asleep her IV machine would start beeping! Loudly!! That would wake her up and it was hard for her to fall back asleep. I finally got her to sleep around four then the lab people came in at six! After they left she fell back to sleep around seven but her doctor came in to check on her at 7:30! Needless to say, there was not much sleeping that night. We were hoping to be able to go home on Thursday, but we weren't that lucky! We were there till Friday. Once she was on her third bag of fluids she was feeling much better! LONG story short, we were able to go home Friday and boy was it nice to go home. We still aren't sure what it was that she had. The first day she was there her white blood count was 34,000 (normal is between 6,000-9,000) then on Thursday it was down to 20,000 then on Friday it was 10,000 (close enough for us to come home).
I did take some pictures but these are when she was feeling better. On Friday morning when they came to do work they just did a finger prick so that's what the finger is (shes not flippin you off)
Overall, it was a long 3 days! Life didn't stop while she was there (that's the next post)! She is doing fine now. She is scheduled to have her tonsils out this Friday December 4th!! I am ready for that!! I'm ready for no more sickness!!

(in most of them she is watching T.V., that's all there was to do. They had over 300 kid's movies!! It was SO cool! She just picked the one she wanted and told them the number!!)
(Thursday night I had her take a shower, I thought it would help her feel better, that's why her hair is wet) (she had her own room with a really nice bathroom!)
I will talk more about my experience in the next post.

We tried to get her to name her IV, but I don't think she ever did.
She is back to her normal, happy self now!!!

I know...it's been a while.

I really have a lot to update on but I'm going to do it in separate posts, and this isn't going to be one. This is more my thoughts/journal entry. After this I will do updates so don't feel the need to read this one if you don't want to.

Why is Satan so strong? Or better yet, why do we allow him to have so much power? I guess it's us that lets him in and gives him strength. If I had one true wish, it would honestly be that everyone was happy and all their troubles would be gone. I try to make that wish come true for as many people as I can. I would give all I have to take their troubles away from them. Today I am finding out that my shoulder's are not as strong as I thought.
My one and only brother. "My brotha from anotha motha" as we like to say, is struggling with the thing that is most dear, his family. Marriage is hard. There is no way around that. It is a full time job. There are highs and lows but you can not let the lows over see the highs. I wish with all I had that I could just go out there and make things all better for them. I wish they could feel the burning testimony I have that families are sealed together! Families are...everything! This is why we exist is for families.
I kinda thought this post would be easy but it's not looking that way. I thought all the emotions and feelings and thoughts I have racing through my mind would come out. They aren't.
I love my family. All of them. I would do anything for them. If my shoulders are not strong enough-I will make them stronger. I have faith in my Father in Heaven and in my family.

when it rains, it pours!

What a week! It has been such an emotional, stressful, busy, crazy week!
It all started on Sunday when my dad came home from a boy scout activity he had been at for the weekend. He came home thinking he had gotten the flu. He was coughing, and had a fever and just didn't feel well.
On a side note, my Mom was scheduled to go into the hospital on Monday morning for a procedure. She didn't want a fuss about it so didn't tell anyone. She was supposed to be in the hospital 3-5 days after her Monday surgery and we had the whole week planed with her absence. Dad was going to take her Monday morning. I was going to take Abby to school and after she was going to go to her dads for a few days while my mom was in the hospital and I was at school. I was going to pick her up Wednesday night.
So...dad came home not feeling well. We had someone come over to assist my dad with a blessing for my mom and Abby wanted to stay awake for it so she could be with grandma and see grandpa since she hadn't seen him in a long time, so I let her. She gets her blessing and we are all feeling ready for this and prepared! My dad was going to take her to the hospital at 6am for her 6:30am appointment. I was awake doing homework and taking care of some other things till about 2am (i know, i don't sleep) and dad came in and asked if I could take her since he was sick. I thought that i could take her and get her all checked in and then rush home take Abby to school then come home for 2hrs finish my homework shower and then go get Abby then come home have her dad here and then i would go to school....that is not how it worked out.
I did take mom to the hospital (Monday i functioned on 3hrs of sleep) and I came home to get Abby ready for school but when she woke up she was complaining of a headache. I took her temp and it was 99.6. With all the flu stuff going on, I thought it would be best if she just stayed home. So we stayed home and as I was getting her ready to go to her dad's I get a call from my Mom around 9am (her surgery was scheduled for 8:30am). She told me that there wasn't going to be a surgery. While they were prepping her she went into a-phib (sp) her heart was pumping way to fast and with her anesthesia that would only get worse. SO, they cancelled it and told her that she would have to reschedule for six weeks out after meeting with a cardiologist. Mind you that all of her pre-surgery tests came back just fine.
SO...with no surgery we thought that she would be coming home Monday afternoon. So I called Abby's dad and said that she wouldn't have to go over there because my mom was coming home....little did we know she wouldn't come home till Wednesday evening!! .....I had a Monday class I could not miss because I had a test and my dad was sick so I asked a friend to watch her and when I picked her up she said her headache hurt worse and now her temp was up over 100. So i immediately called the doctor and made her an appointment for the next day (Tuesday). We stopped by her Dr's office Monday and I got my flu shot, Abby couldn't get it because of her fever.
Monday night it all fell apart! Her fever soared up to 104 and she was on ibuprofen all night and in the morning she started throwing up so we get to the doctors and sure enough...she has the flu! (the doctor said pretty sure h1n1). SO...we both (Abby and I) get notes to excuse us out of school for the rest of the week and we go home and get Abby her medicine and continue with the ibuprofen and Tylenol.
While this is happening to Abby...my Mom is still in the hospital and they cannot get her heart under control. They try her on a i.v. med and that helps but around midnight Monday she goes into a-phip again. So, they can't figure out whats wrong.
So...Tuesday we get home and I give Abby her medicine and she rests on the couch. She starts throwing up once every hour and I can't get her to drink anything and she hasn't gone potty all day. So, I call the doctor and she's concerned for dehydration so she tell us to go to the emergency room. So, Tuesday evening Abby and I head off to the emergency room and get her checked out. They took some blood and thankfully she was not dehydrated and they gave her a prescription (suppository) for her throwing up. We leave Tuesday night and go get that fill and get home and give her all her medicine and put her to bed.
Mom...is still in the hospital! I can't go and see her because of Abby. They finally found a little hole in a heart valve. They unhook her i.v. and give her some oral medicine and shes just fine till Tuesday night when again...she goes into a-phib!! So, the hook the i.v. up again and she can't come home!!
Wednesday, Abby is feeling better, still not good but better. Her medicine is really helping. Mom and her Dr. finally get everything under control enough to where she can come home until she makes her appointment to meet with her cardiologist.
Thursday...Mom's home and Abby is much better.

Long story!! Monday-Wednesday...hard days!!!
Everything is starting to get back to normal now.
(This is too long for me to proof read, so hopefully it's understandable)

Grrrr....

I have about one minute to vent then I have to get back to writing this paper that is due in a few hours!!!

I am TIRED of SCHOOL!! I feel like I have been going for ever and I am ready to be done! It is consuming my life!!! It is hurting my relationship with Abby! I'm ready to be a stay at home mom again and have her always love me. Not crying when I leave and being mad at me when I'm home because I'm always working on homework or getting ready to go to school!! I try and make time for her each day, but that is not working right now. Monday's and Wednesday's I see her for a few minutes in the morning and I'm not home till after she goes to bed. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday I'm doing homework! AAAAHHHH!!! I could just scream right now. She acts up because she's mad at me!!

I'm DONE!
(now it is 12:30 AM and I need to finish my rough draft due at 9:30Am)

Funny Story

..it's kind of funny and kind of sad!!
For those of you who don't know I am very particular about my laundry. I'm have my routine and process of the laundry and it's one of my favorite things to do!
The other night I put a load of darks in and started it as usual. I went in the living room and didn't hear anything unusual. It was late and I was tired so I went to bed before it was completely done. I woke up the next morning to go put them in the dryer and I opened the lid and found.......
THAT'S RIGHT!! a 3/4 empty bottle of bleach!!! I guess it had fallen in or something but I for the life of me cannot remember!!! So, the outcome....

those were a pair of my favorite BLACK pants! It's awful!!

Lesson Learned: if you do laundry when your tired, check your work!
FALL-is by far my FAVORITE season! I LOVE IT!! The colors, the smells the temperature the clothes you get to wear! This weekend we made homemade apple pie! Then in October we get to put our sweaters (hopefully) on and go to Huber's and pick pumpkins!! I LOVE IT!!

Announcement-
Drum Roll Please.............................................

I get to be an AUNT again!!! Yep, that's right!! Rachel is 7 weeks along and is due May 17th. I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Didn't they just have a baby?" Why yes they did. They will be 13 months apart. I have to say that I am SO excited!! Abby and I will be able to go out this time!!!
